Clinical Work:
  • Experience in cementless total hip replacement using the Furlong and Corail hip stems and JRI CSF cups.
  • Exposure to different hip bearings including metal on metal resurfacing and all ceramic bearings.
  • Experience treating peri-prosthetic fractures.
  • Experience treating infected joint replacements by two stage revision.
  • Experience of performing total knee replacement and revision knee surgery using the PFC knee.
  • Experience in general orthopaedics.
  • Attendance at specialist clinic in revision hip and knee surgery to which we receive many tertiary referrals.

During the year appointment as Fellow there will be sufficient time to allow completion of all the research objectives. The Fellow will gain experience in lower limb arthroplasty to be competent to perform hip and knee replacements to CCT level (OCAP Grade 4) and to be able to be appointed as a consultant with a sub specialty interest in revision hip surgery. The Fellow will have a particular expertise in cementless hip implants.
