What is happening Plantar Fasciitis research?

Plantar Fasciitis is one of the major areas of Research for conditions that cause foot pain. It is actually considered the root cause of pain in the arch of the foot in most of the cases. Plantar Fascia which is the band of connective tissues which connect toes and heel bone is the affected party in Plantar Fasciitis.  




The condition mostly affects athletes who play contact sports or sports that involve running. Actually, according to one statistic, around 10% of the injuries caused due to running lead to Plantar Fasciitis. However, it’s not just athletes who remain at risk of Plantar Fasciitis. If you walk on hard surfaces for long durations, there is a chance of heel pain as well caused by Plantar Fasciitis. People who are overweight remain susceptible to Plantar Fasciitis too. 




 Causes of Heel Pain

As already mentioned, Plantar Fasciitis impacts the Plantar Fascia. The root cause of Plantar Fasciitis is the development of minor tears in the band of connective tissues named Plantar Fascia. The minor tears continue to accumulate over time and lead to major tears and the major tears cause a stabbing pain in the heel and the foot.
