In November 2005, the Foundation became a company limited by guarantee, the governing body being a Board of Directors.
The Foundation has established its rightful place as one of the most important names in orthopaedic research in the UK. We are currently supporting in excess of 55 research projects, comprising various streams including: PhD, MD, Post-Doc, Clinical Fellowship, etc.
The Foundation also organises various forums to bring together different disciplines and experts in the field of orthopaedics in the form of: conferences, symposia, courses, etc.
Our Mission Statement is as follows:
- To fund high quality research in areas related to the musculo-skeletal system
- To investigate the performance of surgical procedures and devices
- To support research and development in novel biomaterials
- To publish and disseminate research data
- To organise symposia, workshops and courses
- To collaborate with centres of excellence in different research subjects
